The footage to gather
- Ingredients before service
- The finishing step at the pass
- The dish arriving at a table
Give each moment a little breathing room. Get close enough to show the detail, and keep the original clips handy.
Plan a three-episode series
Choose one question for each episode before filming.
Use episode one for context, two for the process and three for the result; give each its own ending.
Name the next question rather than asking viewers to watch an unexplained part two.
Review it for restaurants
Use the current menu and include booking details that the team can honour.
Ask yourself: Does each instalment add information rather than repeat the same montage?
Watch it as if you were seeing it for the first time. If something is unclear, try a different cut or add the missing shot.
