The story worth telling

The kitchen already contains several stories. The finished plate is a reveal; the ingredient choice is an explanation; the handover at service is a glimpse of the place. Film for those separate purposes rather than trimming the same montage three ways.

Three things to capture

1. The dish being prepared
2. The chef explaining one ingredient
3. The plate leaving the pass

Let the camera run a little before and after each action. Those extra seconds give you room to find a better cut.
